An energetic and rapidly growing CPA firm seeks detail-oriented Bookkeeper (we like to call it a Client Accounting Associate!) for an interesting role with exposure to a wide range of industries.

Responsibilities for Bookkeeper:

  • Accounts payable and Accounts receivable
  • Cash and credit card account reconciliations
  • Transaction coding
  • Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis
  • Merchant account reconciliations
  • Payroll processing
  • Prepare payroll and all payroll tax returns on a timely basis
  • Review and enter month-end close, including adjusting journal entries
  • Preparation of property tax and use tax statements
  • Prepare appropriate schedules and reports as needed
  • Prepare and issue W9s and 1099s
  • Additional duties include light administrative assistance and telephones
  • Duties as assigned from time to time by firm administrator or partners

Requirements for a Bookkeeper:

  • Bachelor or Associate degree in Accounting and knowledge of current accounting standards and principles
  • Ability to learn in a working environment
  • Intimate knowledge of Intuit platforms and fluent in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Problem Solving & critical thinking skills
  • Self-starter that is goal oriented and self disciplined
  • Able to prioritize work according to deadlines
  • Professional demeanor and appearance

Experience/Education/Skills a Plus for Bookkeeper:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Accounting/Bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with payroll service providers
  • Journal entry and bank reconciliation experience and knowledge of tax accounting and prep helpful
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of QuickBooks
