Tax Manager, Family and Closely Held Business

HybridOffice-Based Seattle, WA Bader Martin, P.S.

About Bader Martin

As a leading Northwest CPA firm, we’re known for our outstanding technical expertise, strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and passion for the work. We have been named one of the best places to work in the Puget Sound region by Seattle Business magazine and we were named one of the best CPA firms in the nation and one of the fastest-growing. We’ve also been awarded the When Works Institute & Society for HR Management award for our workplace flexibility practices for nine years in a row.

Join the Bader Martin team and you’ll find your client responsibilities diverse and engaging, your colleagues collaborative, and our firm’s culture supportive of your personal and professional growth. We can offer you stimulating and rewarding work for a mix of the region’s most interesting companies, not-for-profit organizations, and affluent families—many of them high profile. And you’ll find the mentoring, training, compensation package and personal support you need to grow in your career.

However, we all know that a great life is more than just great work. You’ll also have a great time here. We’re located in the heart of downtown Seattle — minutes from world-class cultural, sports, and recreational events and an eclectic mix of restaurants and shops. We’re also close to some of the most amazing outdoor recreational activities the Pacific NW can offer. The office attire is casual, the atmosphere is friendly and collaborative, and there’s support for flexible work arrangements.

Job Description

Bader Martin is passionate about the work it does for private family-owned companies. Each family business is actually a sophisticated blend of financial and business practices, along with the personal relationships that exist among its owners, executives, investors, trusted advisors, and family members. That means it’s driven by forces not covered in the standard business curriculum, such as the interpersonal and family matters that rarely impact more widely held companies. We get that. We assist businesses with the unique challenges that come from managing the impact of personal, investor and family concerns in areas such as governance, transition and succession planning, executive and family compensation, philanthropy, strategic planning and retirement, and estate planning.

As a manager with an emphasis in business tax services, you’ll play a leading role in providing our clients with proactive tax planning, compliance, and research services. You’ll supervise or manage all phases of the work and have the primary relationship with many clients. You’ll also provide leadership, supervision, training, and feedback to our staff and senior accountants.

In addition to client work, as a senior member of our team you’ll participate in growing the firm — through your relationships with clients and other centers of influence in the community, and by developing and maintaining visibility as a thought leader and subject matter expert. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential for such activities as presentations and article or blog writing assignments. You’ll also be encouraged to become involved in activities that benefit the Seattle community.
